Accident to ultralight helicopter Ultrasport 555 registration I-C676

On 22 March 2019 around 17:20 helicopter Ultrasport 555, national and registration marks I-C676, has crashed. During accident the crew was fatally injured. Helicopter fully damaged.

In accordance with Annex I of Regulation (EU) 2018/1139, the helicopter is classified as ultralight aircraft. In accordance with Article 5 of Regulation (EU) 996/2010, the safety investigations with these type of aircrafts are conducted only if safety conclusions are expected to be made. Therefore, the preliminary assessment of helicopter accident has been started, after which the decision to or not to perform a safety investigation will be made.

On 22 March 2019 the Safety Investigation Authority of the Republic of Italy (Agenzia Nazionale per la Sicurezza del Volo) as aircraft registration country, was notified about accident.
