Accident to the aircraft Pilatus PC-6/B2-H4, registration YL-YEA

On 19 June 2024, the aircraft Pilatus PC-6/B2-H4, registration YL-YEA, was providing parachute jumps at the Limbazi aerodrome, Latvia. Due to extremely adverse weather conditions, the pilot decided to fly to land at the Riga Airport (alternate airfield). Approximately 3 NM from RWY18, the pilot informed the Riga ATC that he was making an emergency landing because he had run out of fuel. After landing ground roll the aircraft came to rest in a ditch with water. The pilot was not injured, the passenger (parachutist) on board was seriously injured.

The safety investigation is conducting by the Transport Accident and Incident Investigation Bureau of the Republic of Latvia.

The Republic of Lithuania, as a state of the passenger’s nationality, has appointed the accredited representative to this safety investigation.
