On 27 June 2024, the pilot of glider LAK-17B FES mini, LN-GLI, chose to land on the barley field due to a lack of buoyancy and an empty operating battery. The left wingtip descended into the top of the barley (60–70 cm high). The glider rotated sharply to the left and slid sideways until it stopped. There were no injuries, but damage to the aircraft.
The safety investigation of this accident has been delegated to the Sailplane Section of the Norwegian Air Sports Federation (S/NLF).
