Very serious accident with commercial yacht Lilla W, registered in Poland

Approaches to the Klaipėda State Seaport

On 15 September 2019, commercial yacht Lilla W, bound for Klaipėda State Seaport, lost control and was thrown ashore by a storm. There were seven persons on board of the yacht, five of them were rescued and two lost their lives.

Safety investigation was carried out by the Polish State Marine Accident Investigation Commission (Państwowa Komisja Badania Wypadków Morskich).

As a costal state, the Republic of Lithuania cooperated in this safety investigation.
