Incident with bulk carrier Manzanillo, IMO 9450818

On 14 May 2020, ship Manzanillo, registered in Marshall Islands, while at the quay in Klaipeda State Seaport, was inspected by port state control. While the ship's crew was demonstrating the operation of the free-fall lifeboat components, the lifeboat unexpectedly fell into the water along with a crew member who was inside. An ambulance was called and affected crewmember was taken to a hospital. The affected crewmember did not suffer any serious injuries. Incident was investigated by the Maritime Administrator, Republic of the Marshall Islands.
