Approaches to the Klaipėda State Seaport

On 21 January 2020,  two crewmembers of general  cargo ship Bornholm, IMO 9361354, registered in the Netherlands, upon departure from Klaipėda State Seaport, went forward to secure the anchor. One of these crewmembers was hit by the stream of sea water and suffered serious injuries.

The notification about accident was received on 15 March, 2021. It shall be noted that maritime accidents and incidents must be assessed and a decision made whether or not to carry out a safety investigation within two months of the date of the accident or incident. Maritime accidents and incidents must be reported immediately to the investigator-in-charge of maritime accidents and incidents.
