Less serious accident with tug MTS Indus, IMO 8884830

On 11 November 2021, when the tug MTS Indus, IMO 8884830, registered in the United Kingdom, was towing a barge from the southern brakewater of Klaipeda State Seaport, towing gear got entangled in the propeller and stopped main engine. The convoy started drifting from the middle of the port channel towards berth no. 1. Tug Sea Bronco was called, VTS notified. At that time, a ro-ro ferry Marco Polo was entering the port channel through the port gates. Near miss collision has been avoided. No injuries to people, no damage to environment was sustained.
