Accident to the glider LAK-17C FES, registration D-KBBJ

On 4 July 2025, during the flight, it was not possible to stop the propeller of the glider LAK-17C FES, registration D-KBBJ, and to start the front electric sustainer. During the subsequent landing, the glider spun around its vertical axis and was severely damaged. The pilot was not injured.

The German Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation (Bundesstelle für Flugunfalluntersuchung) has not initiated a safety investigation in accordance with Paragraph 5 of Article 5 of Regulation (EU) No 996/2010.
