Accident to the glider LAK-17B FES Mini, registration G-CLTX

On 16 August 2025, during a winch launch of the glider LAK-17B FES Mini, registration G-CLTX, the glider's air brakes deployed. The pilot attempted to start the sustainer engine, but the glider struck a tree. The pilot was seriously injured.

The safety investigation is conducted by the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB).

The Republic of Lithuania, as a state of design and manufacturer of the glider, has appointed the accredited representative and his technical advisors to this safety investigation.
