Less serious accident with general cargo ship Maureen S., IMO 8509820

On 29 January 2022 the outbound vessel Maureen S., IMO 8509820, registered in Cyprus, while proceeding through the port channel towards the port gate, sustained the main engine malfunction and grounded in the area of buoy no. 19. Ship's crew succeeded to eliminate malfunction, and the ship, using her own power moved from the shallows and returned to the berth for a more detailed inspection. There was a pilot on board at the time of the accident. No people were injured, no damage to the ship was reported, and the environment was not polluted.
