Incident of recreational boat LT-12270 and ro-pax ship Luna Seaways, IMO 9851048

The gate of Klaipėda State Seaport

On 18 June 2023, the recreational boat LT-12270 registered in the Register of Inland Water Vessels of the Republic of Lithuania, due to technical malfunction, lost navigationlal control and drifted to the middle of the chanal in the port gate area. At that time, the Danish-registered ship Luna Seaways, IMO 9851048, entered the Klaipėda State Seaport. A near miss colission situation of these two ships ocurred. There was fog at the time of the incident, people were not injured, property was not damaged, and the environment was not polluted.
