Serious accident with fishing vessel Tovė, IMO 5362087

On May 19, 2024, fishing vessel Tovė, registered in the Register of Seagoing Ship’s of the Republic of Lithuania,  was executing routine operations of fishing at some 20 nautical miles from Latvian coast. While heaving trawl with catch using stern hydraulic winch, a deckhand was seriously injured after being pressed between trawl rope and vessel’s stern bulwark. The injured person was transported by helicopter to a medical facility in Latvia.
