IATA Annual Safety Report
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) issued an annual safety report, which includes information about air transport accidents, aviation risks, distribution of accidents among regions and other aspects of aviation safety. In this report all accidents and serious incidents are described as accidents and are not separated.
As described in the report, while the overall accident rate and total number of accidents in 2025 declined compared with the year before, performance remained slightly above the recent five-year average. Despite short-term fluctuations, fatality risk remains extremely low and the long-term safety trajectory continues to improve.
