Safety investigation of the serious incident involving aircraft Embraer ERJ-170 was initiated
In accordance with the provisions of Regulation (EU) No 996/2010, the Safety Investigation Division has initiated a safety Investigation after being informed on 26 November 2025 at 2:02 p.m. that an Embraer ERJ-170 aircraft had a runway excursion at Vilnius International Airport.
The aircraft Embraer ERJ-170, registered SP-LDK, operated by LOT Polish Airlines, flight No. LO771, was flying the route from Warsaw Chopin Airport in Poland to Vilnius International Airport to Lithuania. The crew and passengers were not injured in the serious incident.
The Safety Investigation Department sent a team of investigators to the site of the serious incident and started to collect information and evidence relevant to this safety investigation.
The Safety Investigation Division notified the European Commission, European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), the State of Registry and Operator of the aircraft and the State of Design and Manufacture of the aircraft about the serious incident.
