Safety Investigation Division participated in NIB meeting
On 10-11 June 2026 The Safety Investigation Division participated in the 61st meeting of the European Network of Rail Accidents National Investigation Bodies (NIB) in the Athens, Hellenic Republic.
Safety investigation bodies are independent organisations mandated to investigate specific accidents and incidents in each EU Member State. They operate independently, ensuring impartiality and legal separation from entities whose interests may conflict with the safety investigation function.
Implementing Paragraph 7 of Article 22 of the Directive (EU) 2016/798 safety investigation bodies conducts an active exchange of views and experience for the purposes of:
- the development of common investigation methods,
- the drawing up common principles for follow up of safety recommendations, and
- the adaptation to the development of technical and scientific progress.
